The goal of this site is to provide organizations and local community services a place to call home and to have an identity on the Internet in relation to their home in Southold,  Long Island New York.

We can help provide a variety of technologies, resources, expertise and solutions to  those that need these services.  There a number of individual projects that we wish to include here over time. Some I hope will bring smiles to those who visit.

In the summer of 1995 North Fork Internet first began a project to assist in establishing community infrastructure on the internet, helping libraries, schools, museums, Southold Town offices and many other organziations in the area to establish their first email addresses, websites, and internet connectivity. Many are still using those tools  we provided them.  That project was called the North Fork Technet. It is five years old now, and still growing. This project is a new project, with new challenges and new ideas.

Why do we bother?  In 1640 my ancestors, Barnabus Horton and his wife, Mary Schuyler ,  and other families came across the Atlantic ocean from England and founded this area we call Southold town, I hope this site services to keeps their memories and pioneering sprit alive in helping to advance the good work and efforts of all those who have taken up the task of keeping the area we call home a good and wholesome place to live for now and for our future generations to come.
